Before purchasing the NUVI 205W, I used a GPSMAP 76Csx. I originally purchased the 76Csx with the idea of using it for fishing in Canada and it worked great for that since I was able to get maps of the lakes I was fishing on. It also allowed use on the road for mapping and finding a route to a given address, much the same as the NUVI. It's a good general purpose unit. I must say that the 76Csx is much more complicated to use since it has many more features than the NUVI unit, but for travel on the road, the NUVI is a much better choice. The 3D view and the voice directions are just exceptional as compared to the 76Csx. Finding an address is top notch and having the unit talk you there with the color map is really nice. The 76Csx is a fine unit in it own right for cross country hiking, boating, etc; in other words for outdoorsmen, but the NUVI unit is much better suited for general travel in a car or on a motorcycle. It just gets you where you want to go. Excellent product! Highly recommended. |

| We just bought this model and love it. We were very scepticle about the product so we "tested" it, when we mapped out a destination we would take another turn to see if we could screw it up...no such luck it would recalculate another route to the same destination. we are very excited about having this. We love the wide screen and the voice prompts are loud and clear...We didnt want anything fancy (bluetooth etc) We just wanted to get from point A to point B and it has accomplished this. From a person who cannot find her way out of a paper bag without directions it is a God's send!!!!!!!!!!!! | ||||
