	The Garmin nuvi 255w surpassed my expectations. The first suprise was, it's signal receiving ability. While reviewing the 255w and quick start manual, I was surprised I could receive a strong satellite signal right inside my home. So, I preceeded to enter four destination, which was done with great ease. It is is very user friendly, especially for an inexperienced person like myself. Upon installing it in my car I preceeded to test it on the four destinations I had previously installed. I was completely overjoyed. It not only took me to the exact places I had entered as a test,but,I took a wrong turn on purpose and it instantly re-calculated a new route and took me to the required address. The factory installed US maps are very precise and up to date. One route I had installed was to a friends new home in a new housing development. It took me right to his doorstep. It gives very precise visual and voice commands well ahead of any required turns which is very helpful for me in my travel in large,unfamliar cities. It has many other user friendly features which I am just now exploring. This Garmin 255w does everything it says it does, and I was surprise how simple it is to use. I am completely satisfied and highly recommend it. It makes for a more relaxed and stress free travel,especially in large US cities.

	This is my fourth Garmin nuvi, replacing a 760 that was unfortunately stolen. The 760 had a lot of features I paid for but didn't use -- the 255W is a lot less expensive but does everything I want it to... which is to get me from Point A to Point B/ Signal acquisition is extremely fast and I love the querty keyboard. It does seem that I need to press harder to get keystrokes to input text but that may be because the unit is new. If you want a widescreen nuvi, don't need built-in traffic, or the ability to use your car speakers, the 255W would be a good choice.

	As becoming the owners of our 1st Auto GPS, we had no idea what to expect but with the Garmin Nuvi 255W we are all delighted with our purchase. Programming is very easy even for novices like ourselves, the display is very bright and crisp even in the worst lighting conditions, the touch screen is very responsive and reactive to even the lightest touch. The actual street names being called out is a very nice feature and has been 100% accurate. The route recalculation works very well especially for those of us that don't always pay attention. As being a Geo-Cacher being able to store and find caches with this has been an added surprise. Having already owned another Garmin product I already knew of their great product reputation and reliability. As being the owner of another fine Garmin product I would recommend this to anyone. My wife and daughter just took off on another trip and I was relieved to know they could rely on this product to get them where they wanted to go, and to get back, without having to rely on a map to do that for them. Thanks GPS.now and Garmin for a great product. Also thank you for your help and great service.

	Instead of updating the mapping software on my 3 yr old Street Pilot 2730, I wanted to upgrade to a new GPS with the same features I was accustomed to (text-to-speech, and an arrow which indicates if your next turn will be to the right or left). I also did not want to pay for features I do not need (MP3, traffic alerts, bluetooth compatible, etc.) The 255W is very quick to establish satellite connection, and to calculate the route. The screen detail is much more detailed because of the wide screen. I was also very suprised to find a useful feature that was unadvertised, the actual posted speed limit of most main streets is displayed on the screen.
