Just took my new watch out on its first run earlier today--and it worked flawlessly. The bezel functions are easy to learn after experimenting with them. Easy download after the activity, and very intuitive viewing of the data once the activity is in Garmin Training Center. The Virtual Partner function is great--there was no way I was going to let "it" beat me! |

My goal is to run a marathon 4 months from now without damaging my body in the process. The 405 is the perfect companion to have while training. Tracking my speed, distance and heart rate is effortless with the 405. The 405 is no larger than a Sunto I own with an integrated altimeter. This product is perfect for someone who is a non-runner and needs a distraction to no longer focus on the pain of running.
I should also mention that ordering from GPSnow.com was a great experience. The company will not accept orders until the device is in stock. I received an email when the 405 was available and received it via US mail two days after the order was placed. I am very impressed with this company! |

The Forerunner 405 is loaded with features. After reviewing the owner's manual, I found the numerous features easy to access. The user interface utilizes a touch feature on the bezel of the watch. It paired quite easily with the heart rate monitor, the foot pod and my laptop. In 10 minutes everything was set up and I was ready for my first run. Even while running it is easy to navigate to the heart rate or to check your pace. A great addition to my running program. |

This training watch is fabulous. It is not near as bulky as previous GPS-enabled watches and it works flawlessly. The ability to upload your training data to Garmin's web-based training /tracking website is a huge plus. Your are able to easily track and trend your mileage, time run, pace, calories burned, heart rate, elevations, etc. I couldn't be happier with the watch. In addition, the service from GPSNOW.com was top notch! I literally placed my order at 4:45 p.m. and had the watch in my hands early the next day. |

I've been waiting for this watch for a long time. It is sleek, easy-to-use, and picks up satellite signals way better than the previous versions of the Forerunner. I don't love the ANT technology it uses to sync. At least, I don't love the fact that you don't have another option like a direct USB connection. This is especially a pain because the ANT connection isn't currently Mac compatible. They claim a Fall 2008 release of Mac capability, but if past experience with Garmin Mac support is any indicator, it will be much longer. |
