| Great Unit (4/5) | Mar 1, 2009 | Tim Honaker | Bluefield VA US | |

Pros: Everything. I love this unit. I've been using TomTom for a couple years and just needed a better system. This one fits the bill. Cons: The volume isn't near loud enough for me. After years of sirens, gun fire and other loud noises, my hearing isn't as good as it used to be. The volume on my old TT was much, much louder. That's the only improvement I would like to see. |

| If you want the best this is it (5/5) | Feb 16, 2009 | Rajas Shirsat | SUNNYVALE CA US | |

I am previous owner of emap and streetpilot III and I have been following the GPS developments for past few years particularly Garmin's product. I have found what I have been looking for in NUVI 885T. The voice activation, traffic, bluetooth are just the kind of features which I have been looking for along with the extremely reliable navigation of garmin products. The MSN direct feature adds to the feature rich GPS which helps save money such as finding cheap gas and staying within the speed limit to avoid those costly traffic tickets as this now shows the street speed limit visavis your speed. Now this GPS adds the lane assist and this works great as it will tell you which lane you need to be in when you take the turn. If you are the one who wants the GPS loaded you should get it. It is pricey and there is no other GPS which is at this price point to give you these features. Hence either you compromise and go for drastic price differences to the other ones including Garmin's other models. Garmin has put together as many features as possible with making sure they all tie together technically in this product. I am a 1st time customer of GPSnow.com and was surprsing happy with speed of delivery and instock availability confirmations via there emailing service |

| Intuitive and a pleasure to use (5/5) | Feb 25, 2009 | Charles Penque | Tillamook Oregon US | |

I purchased the Nuvi 885T to replace a Street Pilot III and a Street Pilot 2610. The GPS technology has come a long way since the earlier Street Pilots and the Nuvi 885T is an example of the cutting edge. I was a bit skeptical regarding the voice activation feature, but after using it I was very impressed. I can't believe how well that feature works. The Nuvi 885T is loaded with a number of neat features all of which are intuitive and a pleasure to use. What is particularly convenient is the way you can access additional data while driving a route, just touch the screen or say the correct word. I have noticed that the maps are drawn much quicker than the older GPS models and the fact that you can add a micro SD to personalize it makes it even more impressive. I did notice that the City Navigator North America NT maps included with this unit do not appear to be quite as comprehensive as City Navigator North America 2008. For example the earlier maps included RV Parks/Campgrounds under lodging while the NT version does not. I would also like to have seen elevation presented on the map screen. All in all, Garmin has done a tremendous job designing the Nuvi 885T. |
