BEST on the market (5/5) Feb 16, 2007 Tom Van D. Peoria AZ US
This GPS is the BEST on the market now! It's awesome. The purchase was made at 4X4 books. Excellent on line company. Great service. One problem I had was the FM radio reception. I think they fixed that with their latest upgrade. The screen is large enough to where you can easily see it, even in the back seat. Very user friendly, and connects to satellites quickly w/o an antenna. AAAAA++++ Garmin!!! You guys are number one!!! I would recommend this unit to all!! EXCELLENT!
Great Little Unit! (5/5) Nov 4, 2006 Ted Yang Chicago IL US
This is definitely the nicest looking unit out there with a nice big screen. For the price you can't beat the form factor. Usability was great with a very easy to figure out interface. FM transmitter worked great and I love the included mp3 player. Really makes the unit fully functional. Mapping/route finding was excellent - the unit even found some back alleys in my own neighborhood! Also included traffic is pretty cool but not as useful as it might be.

The biggest issue with the unit was that it is a bit slow to pick up reception. Not sure if all units in my area have this problem and I will try this in different parts of the country soon and see if it works better.

Overall if you are looking for a higher end unit with more functionality but not full blown 1k+ you can't go wrong.

Awesome. (5/5) Dec 27, 2006 Sam Winans Austin TX US
I've driven from Texas to Indiana to Virginia to New York with this Nuvi - and it is a God Send. I literally took it out of the store, mounted it on my dash in the parking lot and was on my way navigating around town. The interface is incredibly simple - although it took me a minute to realize all of the Points of Interest (gas, food, lodging) are tucked under the "Where To" area under Food, Lodging. That's not a complaint though, I just refused to open the manual. The voice directions are useful in town, but out on the highway, I often miss them because I'm listening to my stereo; making a wrong turn can actually be fun now since you know you won't get lost - you just have to listen to the Nuvi say "Recalculating" around 5 times...fair punishment for not following the ridiculously simple directions it gives. After owning the Nuvi for a while, I've taken the paper maps out of my truck. Even in small rural towns, maps are available on the Nuvi. Bluetooth is great, my phone book loaded right up on the screen allowing me to call straight from the unit by scrolling through my contacts. Traffic and construction updates posted around Indianapolis and the unit even re-routed me around construction traffic. I'm not crazy about paying $60.00 a year for traffic updates on the FM receiver though - I plan to keep skipping that one.

The only problems I've had with the Nuvi are with the dashmount - it's a little tricky to get it off when you want to stow it; I've dropped the unit a few times already.

I highly recommend the unit to anyone. Although it's a little pricey, it is definitely worth the difference in cost over other units that are not as complete and reliable. I love my Nuvi.
Absolutly LOVE It.... (5/5) Sep 20, 2007 RJ Eihausen Phoenix AZ US
Yes I absolutly love it. Actually like the mobility of this device and the easy to use functions.
I'm a REALTOR so it has been a tremenous help in locating property when it is important to give your clients your undivided attention.
Recently used on a vacation to San Francisco and boy was it a big help in locating restarants and shopping.
Can't wait to use it in NY later this year.
Most of all I bought it here on GPSNow.com and it was great to get it the next day. What service.
Missing Key Feature (4/5) Sep 28, 2007 Rick Ashworth Marsing Idaho US
Actually I would rate this at at least 4.5 stars. Perhaps I should have done more homework. I am dissapointed that you can not input a route of your own for a trip. You have to rely on the Nuvi choice. I realize you can deviate from the provided route and the GPS will recalculate. My Garmin etrex Vista allows you to input a complete trip, but only tracks your progress and it could care less if you deviate and it only calculates distance as the crow flies. I am looking forward to being lost one day and asking my new Nuvi 660 for help and directions. Other than this, it appears to be a great product and one that will accompany me where ever I go.
Very pleased with GPSNow; amazed at how fast it got here.
Good but not great (4/5) Dec 13, 2006 Richard Rosin Manahawkin NJ US
Unit works great bought it at GPS NOW.com.. great price Unit voice is a little choppy and wants to cut out at the end of directions and releasing unit is very difficult but all in all very satisfied with this unit
So Easy! (5/5) Sep 12, 2007 Renard Redding ca US
I love this thing! My husband bought for me so I would feel comfortable driving out of town. I thought it was a "guy toy" and did not think that it was going to be something I would like, however this GPS is so easy to use even without instructions. I carry it all the time.
Out of the box great! (5/5) Nov 28, 2006 Pam Reynolds Easton MD US
I purchased the Garmin 660 on the recommendation of GPSnow.com reviews and others that I had seen over the last few weeks. It truly is great right out of the box. I live in the rural area of the Eastern Shore of Maryland and can locate remote farms, houses and also travel to Reagan International Airport and downtown D.C. with no problems. Ordering and shipping from GPSnow was also great.
Best auto unit (5/5) Mar 30, 2007 Michel W. Ramsey NJ US
I own several Garmin units for different purposes, my latest addition the Nuvi 660. This is so far the best auto unit I purchased. The people at GPSNOW always keep their promises, packages go out the same day, and are also very helpful and fast answering any questions one might have. They have never let me down.
Thank you GPSNOW!
Love It (4/5) Nov 18, 2006 Linda Gilmore Rancho Cucamonga CA US
I really did not want to spend this much on the GPS unit but I do love it and it is easy to operate and to see when driving also it is loud enough you can hear it while driving. I use the headphones when listening to the books and it makes your long drive go by very quickly. The only thing is the accessories that I needed such as the mount for CA costs you another $100 for you have to buy two things for the one weighted mount which I do not understand why that would be. You then have an extra unit you will not use for one little part you needed out of it. Also the amount of music you can download is not much and you will need to buy another memory card if you want to use the MP3 player. Not sure how to use the bluetooth as of yet or the transmission through the car radio. I am sure that will come with time. It is great to have a GPS it has made my trips enjoyable and saved me one time looking for a gas station when I was on empty.

[Editor's note: The nüvi 660 ships with a Dashboard Disk that can be used with the included suction cup mount. Alternatively the nüvi 660 Automotive Mounting Bracket (010-10823-02) - $34.95 and Portable Non-Skid Friction Mount (010-10306-00) - $29.95 can be purchased for dashboard use.]
Outstanding Equipment (5/5) Jun 13, 2007 Larry Frieders, R.Ph. Aurora IL US
Exceeds expectations. It is a handy device that is far better than the GPS in my newer Lexus. I use it in the car and when walking through the city. The battery life is excellent. Accurate and reliable.
LITTLE GADGET BIG FEATURES (5/5) Nov 29, 2006 GERRY LOS ANGELES CA US
As an insurance adj I travel a lot (200+mi/day) navigating the busy cities of Los Angeles, Orange,San Fernando & Ventura. No more staring at Atlas Maps & Mapquest printouts. I've had the GPS for almost a month & I must say, the NUVI 660 is very accurate. The bright colored screen is easy to read even on bright sunny day & the voice guide is very clear. The optional traffic guide comes in handy letting you know what's ahead. Anyone who drives in California knows that most street names are hard to see specially at night or during a rainy day (too small or too far inside the street to see). The Nuvi 660 is like a night vision that displays the street names clearly & I love the "where to" feature that tells you the name of the street. It even tells you which side of the street the destination is while it displays the address on the screen. With 4 cars & an RV the portability of the NUVI 660 is a big plus. Is there anything better out there? I don't think so!
Garmin Nuvi 660 simple and accurate (5/5) Nov 20, 2006 Frank Piasecki Stoughton Ma US
I've owned a nautical Garmin GPS but this is my first automotive unit. I took this unit on vacation the day after it arrived. I found it easy to use and very accurate. You don't have to take eyes off the road, the voice prompts are easy to understand and very timely. By day 2 I put the road maps away and totally relied on the Nuvi. The large sceen is a real bonus. GPSNOW's price and service were great as well.

Garmin Nuvi 660 Stands Alone (5/5) Nov 4, 2006 Don Marotzke Rosemount MN US
After receiving my Nuvi 660 I see why Garmin is still the leader in the GPS market, I have been a GPS fanatic since the first units came out many years ago, This latest model from Garmin is a combination of all the best of the best features, it is so easy to use anyone, I mean anyone can use it, not just the GPS feature but all the features, such as Bluetooth, mp3 player, picture veiwer, etc. This is the absolute finest GPS unit I have ever owned period.
New to Nuvi (4/5) Nov 4, 2006 diddy Newburgh NY US
Garmin's 660 is my first GPS unit & like many other of you guys, I'd rather plug it in & play, rather than read all of the instruction manuels. That theory is working out OK for me so far but one problem that I am trying to work through right now is the distance that the unit is listing locations. In other words, I know how far is it to get to work, but the Nuvi has it at much less of a milage distance than it is??? I only hope that there's some updates that I haven't performed yet that will mkae the mileage more accurate.

[Editor's note: The unit shows straight line distances to locations until a route is created. Once a route is created to a location the unit takes into account actual driving distance]
Garmin Nuvi 660-Genie in a box! (5/5) Nov 5, 2006 Deepa Mehta Lancaster PA US
This is truly a travel genie! I have used it for the past couple of days and find it very user friendly, fast and reliable. The larger screen is an asset and the voice commands are crystal clear. The bluetooth comaptibility is wonderful and I had no problems pairing the Nuvi660 with my Nokia E62. So far a great experience. Also fast & excellent service from GPSNOW! Hats off!
LOVE IT (5/5) Dec 31, 2006 David Stowell West Chester PA US
It's the best money that I have spent in a long time. Big screen, very detailed. Comes in handy with traffic.

Also - I was in a car accident a few weeks ago - everyone was OK. The Garmin 660 came in VERY handy. The police told me I was speeding and I wasn't. Come to find out, when I checked the stats on my Nuvi when I got home - It showed my overall trip average speed and my average moving speed, which was well below the posted limit.

I took a picture of it when I got home (not turning it on or using it right after the accident). My camera has a date/time stamp which will show when the picture was taken.

Anyway....I highly recommend this product.
Frequent User (5/5) Dec 9, 2006 Dan VA
Purchased and arrived on time, no hassles on purchasing, operated upon receipt and the features are second to none. Extremely easy to learn to use right of the box. No decision to be done in purchasing this unit..you will realize how much of a silly wabbit you have been waiting so long!
Truly a no brainer (5/5) Mar 14, 2007 Chuck Yakima WA US
Unit arrived in perfect condition and on time! I could have gotten the unit for a little less money but I'm glad I went with GPSnow.com because they were true to their word. Other sites I researched could process your order for 24-72 hrs before it even ships. I truly ordered yesterday and recieved it today. Had the unit figured out in less than 15 min right out of the box. Truly a no brainer. These guys are great.
Much Better than I Ever Imagined (5/5) Jan 6, 2007 Carol Beaman Wichita KS US
I got it for Christmas. Unbelievable how accurate it is. Go to the back country and gravel roads, it still knows the roads, routes and right where we are at. Much better than I ever imagined. The company service is outstanding also.
NOT LOST IN OHIO (5/5) Aug 8, 2007 Bruce Simeone West Chester Ohio US
I love the NUVI 660 so much that four months after I bought one for my wife, I bought myself one. It is the easiest electronic item to use that I own. I also bought the friction mount for both cars as well. It allows for more flexibility and transfers quite easliy to rentals, kids cars, or any vehicle we own. Get this, I ordered the second unit on Monday night, paid for Priority mail, and it was on my door step Wednesday afternoon!
Even better than as advertised (5/5) Dec 12, 2006 Bob Morris Ft. Lauderdale FL US
I've only had my new Garmin 660 for two days and can see why they are rated the best. Everything works even better than as advertised!!!! The bluetooth connection to my cellphone was almost too easy. I can't imagine ever having another brand GPS.
Nuvi 660 is great! (5/5) Sep 28, 2007 Bill Tilley San Pedro CA US
I updated my Garmin SreetPilot GPS that I used for 5 years. What an improvement in technology over the years.
Originally bought a Magellan 4040 which was a little less expensive but returned it after two days of use even though both Nuvi and 4040 have the basic same features. The Nuvi 660 is so superior. The text is larger, and the color contrasts easier to read. I could not read the text on the 4040 on the dash of the car while driving. The input of addresses is quick with the large print touch screen alphabet. I haven't tried the cell phone bluetooth yet so no comments on that feature which I don't know if I will use.

I forgot to mention this company (GPSnow) I purchased it from. I was leaving on vacation on a Tuesday and did not order until the Friday before. Paid for overnite delivery and received the GPS on Monday at 9:30 am. Wonderful service, delivered as promised as as ordered. I must give equal credit to FEDEX. Thanks Team
Good unit, No! It is a Fantasic unit! (5/5) Jan 2, 2007 Bill G Corona CA US
Garmin nuvi 660 is an excellent GPS unit! I ordered the unit from GPSNOW.com and thought I would receive the unit after the holiday rush, nope! It came before New Years which I was very excited. I tested the unit the same day and drove around the city checking the accuracy and all the bells and whistles.
I found the unit to be very accurate in distance and street locations. The integrated Bluetooth phone hook up was easy to use and was surprised that I can access, on the nuvi 660m, my phone listing that is on my phone. The traffic condition alert is great and looking for a place to eat was easy. I was able to use the call function on the nuvi 660 to see if they were open during the holiday. The MP3 is good to have not great but it is convenient. The negatives: The automated voice is a bit choppy and the FM station that I use had a bit of static. I had to keep changing it to a cleaner station then it worked fine. I did need to adjust the brightness as it was a bit of a distraction during the night. Over all I think the nuvi 660 is an excellent GPS unit and I look forward to using it on a very long road trip. I recommend it very highly!
