WOW Great product and service! (5/5) Mar 19, 2008 Will McKinsey Kuna Idaho US
AWESOME GPS'r for the geocacher! The service was even better than expected. I ordered on Saturday, got a call on Sunday and Monday to confirm my order due to bogus orders recently. My unit was at my doorstep on Wednesday! I would recommend this website to anyone wanting to have a fast and secured purchase.
60Cx - Super GPS (5/5) Mar 1, 2007 Ron Fischer Gervais OR US
This may be the best Garmin product out there (and I have a few of them). Very fast startup and very good screen resolution. I use the small chip for my marine charts and a 2gb chip for my city navigator maps. I love the little sucker so much I'm buying another one to replace the one that was stolen last night!
Great GPS Unit (5/5) Jan 1, 2007 Joe Lucchio Vacaville CA US
Just picked this up to create gpx file courses so I can download them to my Racermate Computrainer. This tracking was spot on and file transfer was seemless. I'm very impressed with the unit and all it's capabilities. Glad I choose this unit.
Wow! What a tracking tool. (5/5) Dec 30, 2006 William Aprile Modesto CA US
This instrument is the first GPS device I have used. The tracking features are outstanding. The GPSmap 60Cx gave me the power to travel over 1,000 miles and track every turn using only two rechargable AA batteries. I can't wait until I take it backpacking this spring. I will be able to stay on course and reach my destinations without being sidetracked by trails that wander from the actual trail. With the addition of topo maps to the 60Cx I will be able to plan my back country trips accurately saving precious travel time to points of interest. The multiple pages of information are easily accessed. Use at night is made simple with the back lighting dimming feature. I am very satisfied with the GPSmap 60Cx. I turn it on and get a fix, again and again.
Great Signal! (4/5) Dec 26, 2006 Howard Schloss Stevenson MD US
The GPSMAP 60 Cx acquires satellite signal very easily and quickly. In my house on the bottom floor with no windows I could easily obtain more than a couple satellites. The screen in large and very easy to read with easy zoom features for those with poorer eyesight. It even has a setting to make the text larger. It is very user friendly; I started using it without reading the book with ease. This is due to an easy to navigate menu and the external buttons are very helpful. Other good features include optimal times to go hunting and fishing. Also, it has some games if you get bored in the hunting stand. It also has a speedometer and odometer for those who want to attach it to a road or mountain bike. Almost every setting is able to be customized, so if something annoys you it can be changed. The reason I gave this a 4 out of 5 is that it comes with a base map, which is just that. Very basic, which only includes interstates and main roads. Other programs are needed for detailed maps. Other than that this unit is near perfect. I have used an older Etrex model that did not pick up signal indoors or in the forest very well, so this unit is ten times better.
Hold that signal (5/5) Dec 12, 2006 Albert Blakeslee Winthrop WA US
We are addicted Geocachers and have worked our way up from a Garmin Venture to a 60C and now to the GPSMap 60Cx. The 60C is a fine GPSr but it often left us frustrated under the thick, wet tree cover of the Pacific Northwest. We first saw a friend with a 60CSx get a lock inside a restaurant and we were sold. This unit accepted the maps we already owned and keeps a signal lock under conditions where the poor 60C would have surly lost the signal. It is user friendly and a pleasure to cache with.
Great GPS (5/5) Dec 7, 2006 Rich Earley Marlton NJ US
I bought the 60cx mainly for the SiRF recieving capability. I have an etrex Legend and although I am happy with it for its size I wanted the extra recieveing power of the SiRF. I have found that when I am in heavy tree cover such as thick pines that the better reciever makes all the difference. I have even picked up satilites in my house. The ability to add memory is also nice. I keep all my topo maps and hunting waypoints on one card and city maps and geocaches on another. The unit is very user friendly. I would reccommend this GPS to any outdoor person that wants the best for all situations.
