Very Happy (5/5) May 25, 2007 John Irvine CA US
Was looking for basic camping/hiking GPS at reasonable cost. Very happy with GPS 60. Didn't want lot of fancy options.

Bright screen, easy to read in direct sunlight.
Very attractive, good, solid feel.
Provided software easy to install/use to create waypoints/routes and download to unit.
Intuitive/consistent user interface.
Belt clip well-designed, easy to use.

Tedious to manually create waypoints and routes in unit, use provided software to do this.

Haven't used the 'mark' function yet to create waypoints as walking/hiking. Looks easy to do, though.

Lots of data values to customize each display.

Easy to move from page to page.

Especially liked the route function to create a destination (w/intermediate points). Very intuitive to see whether you are on-track to your destination or which direction to turn to get there. Seems like a great feature to mark the campsite, then find your way back (haven't used the back-track feature, maybe even easier to use).

I am using mine to make sure I stay on BLM managed property in the Mojave desert. Very easy to mark boundaries and see if you are inside them.

Highly recommend this unit.
VERY happy with it (5/5) Dec 31, 2006 Stuart Forsyth Wilson NY US
This was our second unit, an upgrade from the basic etrex yellow..VERY happy with it...linkable to the computer for ultra fast waypoint transfer there is something to be said about loading 300 geocaching waypoints in 3 seconds! Big easy to read display, logical button control layout and very rugged case. Some may not like the size of the case, it is large for a hand held unit in this day of "micro elecronics" but it remains comfortable to hold and use. The drawback is it's not very "hideable" when in use. (geocachers will know why that is important! The lack of mapping ability may be seen as a drawback by some but the price difference makes that a point that can be overlooked. Highly recommended as a first or second unit!
Great Entry level unit (4/5) Dec 24, 2006 Ben Howson Snells Beach NZ
Great unit for getting into GeoCaching or just finding your way around the bush or harbour. Nice clear screen with a easy to use 'pages' system. Back lit buttons which did not feature on my earlier GPS. I have the suction mount for the windscreen, but I find that the power cable gets in the way and it (the cable) is getting damaged from being placed and removed from the bracket. The bracket itself is awesomely adjustable.
