I have been using the Legend for a couple of years now, primarily for mountain bike riding, but also for geocaching. If I had to buy all over again, I would get a different GPS unit with a high sensitivity receiver, as I often lose satellite connection with it. It eats batteries, so recommend getting rechargeables. |

| Garmin eTrex Legend (5/5) | Nov 8, 2006 | Charles R. Benjamin | Sumner WA US | |
| This is such a simple to operate unit a third grader could operate it. It gives great readings for highways and major roads. Only took me 5 minutes after reading the quick start guide to have reading to my house. Went to a nearby shopping area & got the reading there on arrival. I would recommend this unit to anyone who has never used a GPS unit before. Oh I bought this unit for the wife. I found that GPSNow had great prices on other items too. | ||||

| This is my favorite of the Econo-models. This little guy knows no limits when it comes to tasks. A+++ | ||||

Well so far I have been using the Legend for about a month Geo caching. Works very well except in heavy tree cover...where you will loose signal. Battery life is good. Using it is quite easy, but yes read the book and practice. Small and lightweight. I did add Topo Maps to the unit, and that made a lot of difference to seeing much more detail. I just love this small unit. |

| I've got more than 32,000 miles on my Legend and not once has it given me a problem. I have been very happy with it's performance and features. You can't beat this unit! | ||||
| Great way to get started in geocaching without breaking... (5/5) | Jan 30, 2007 | Ken Lotts | Sierra Vista AZ US | |
| This is about the biggest bang for the buck GPS available. It is very accurate and works extremely well for geocaching plus it comes with a serial cable to upload coordinates from your PC. It is very compact and water tight. Did I mention that it is about the biggest bang for the buck GPS available? | ||||
| Decent GPS with big potential (4/5) | Dec 27, 2007 | Chris | Calgary AB CA | |
| Got this for Christmas a couple days ago and have been out Geo Caching. Found that it's not great without a really clear sky, but seems to do the trick. Would recommend to anyone looking to do some Geo Caching in their area. | ||||
