Instead of updating the mapping software on my 3 yr old Street Pilot 2730, I wanted to upgrade to a new GPS with the same features I was accustomed to (text-to-speech, and an arrow which indicates if your next turn will be to the right or left). I also did not want to pay for features I do not need (MP3, traffic alerts, bluetooth compatible, etc.)
The 255W is very quick to establish satellite connection, and to calculate the route.
The screen detail is much more detailed because of the wide screen.
I was also very suprised to find a useful feature that was unadvertised, the actual posted speed limit of most main streets is displayed on the screen. |
