This was our second unit, an upgrade from the basic etrex yellow..VERY happy with it...linkable to the computer for ultra fast waypoint transfer there is something to be said about loading 300 geocaching waypoints in 3 seconds! Big easy to read display, logical button control layout and very rugged case. Some may not like the size of the case, it is large for a hand held unit in this day of "micro elecronics" but it remains comfortable to hold and use. The drawback is it's not very "hideable" when in use. (geocachers will know why that is important! The lack of mapping ability may be seen as a drawback by some but the price difference makes that a point that can be overlooked. Highly recommended as a first or second unit! |
