- The Garmin iQue 3200 GPS PDA interface makes it much easier to enter
data. Most other GPS units require you to painstakingly scroll
through the entire alphabet for each and every letter of street, city
and waypoint names. With the Garmin iQue 3200 names are easily
entered either by writing on the "graffiti" pad
or by just touching the letters with the stylus on the onscreen
keyboard. To shift a map just touch the screen with the stylus and
drag the map whichever way you want it to go. To enlarge an area just
pick the magnification tool and drag your stylus across the area you
want enlarged. The PDA interface makes the Garmin iQue easier to use than any other GPS we have ever worked with. Once

*PC compatible computer with available USB port required to download
City Select maps. Only a portion of the City Select map data can be
loaded into the iQue 3200's built in 32 MB memory (basemap and basic Palm
software will take up roughly half of the built-in memory. Loading
optional included software and games will take even more.) The North
American City Select v6 CD-ROMs contain over 1,500 MB of map data.
Download City Select maps sets only for the areas you plan to access local
streets in. The iQue 3200's Americas
Autoroute Basemap provide routable Interstate (including Interstate
Exit Services information) and primary highway information between these
areas. Secure Digital Memory Cards (see below) may
be purchased if you wish to download more local street detail than the
built in memory will hold.
North America City Select v6 CD-ROMs contain 1,073 maps,
"average*" map size 1.48 MB, 1,592 MB total
*Individual map sizes can vary greatly from
"average" map size.
A PC Compatible computer with available USB port is
required to set up the iQue 3200 from the included Setup CD-ROM and for
downloading MapSource maps.

MapSource™ CDs provide high level detail
of roads, recreational areas, coastlines, navaids, lakes, boat ramps,
topography and more. USB recharging HotSync® cradle is included with each
iQue 3200 to allow you to download MapSource™ CD Data from your PC to
your iQue 3200. MapSource™ software also allows you to view color
maps on a personal computer, with zoom and pan functions for easy map
browsing. Users can then select individual maps in areas of interest and
transfer the maps to the iQue 3200 or other compatible GPS.
Think of MapSource™ as an atlas that
contains many smaller maps. By choosing several of these maps, you
can make a map set. This map set can then be transferred to your
GARMIN GPS, which allows you to tailor the map detail for the geographic
areas you wish to view. For instance, if you are planning a trip by car,
your map set might only need to include those maps that are along your
intended driving route. MapSource gives you the flexibility to choose the
extent of the mapping coverage.
Use the trip and waypoint manager functions
to create waypoints, routes, and tracks, and transfer them between your
GARMIN GPS and your PC. This is excellent for planning your next outdoor
adventure, business trip, vacation, or recreational outing without ever
leaving your house.
