MapSource City Select North America v7, you can literally travel to a new
city, look up your hotel, restaurants, and other services and use your
compatible Garmin GPS to guide you there without stopping for directions.
This DVD includes fully routable detailed maps throughout the U.S.,
Canada, and Puerto Rico. It is included with the purchase of several
Garmin® units and is also available for purchase as a stand-alone
product. See MapSource Map Transfer Compatibility
Table for products that Garmin recommends with this software.
Version 7 features include:
- Maps contain full coverage throughout the U.S., Canada
and Puerto Rico, including metropolitan and rural
coverage
- Includes detailed maps containing highways,
interstates, business and residential roads with attributes such as
turn restrictions, speed categories and other navigation features
- Displays nearly 6 million points of interest
such as:
- food and drink
- lodging
- attractions
- entertainment
- shopping
- emergency services
- post offices
- camp grounds
- movie theaters and more
- Will automatically create point-to-point routes in MapSource
and on compatible Garmin GPS units (See MapSource Map Transfer Compatibility
Table)
- Supplemental coverage of Hawaii provided using unverified
governmental sources
- With the “Unlock Wizard” to guide you through the unlock process to unlock all regions without additional charge
- Trip and waypoint management feature lets you transfer waypoints,
routes, and tracks between your Garmin GPS and your PC**
Before you can download map detail to a data card or directly to your
compatible Garmin GPS, you must “unlock” the MapSource City Select
North America v7 DVD. Simply follow the instructions on the included
certificate to unlock the entire DVD. Next, download the data to a data
card or to your compatible Garmin unit. (See MapSource Map Transfer Compatibility
Table)
North America City Select v7 DVD contains 1,059 maps,
"average*" map size 1.55 MB, 1,646 MB total
*Individual map sizes can vary greatly from
"average" map size.
Coverage
Please Note: To provide its customers
with the most complete and accurate electronic maps achievable at reasonable
cost, Garmin uses a combination of government and private data sources.
Virtually all data sources contain incomplete or inaccurate data to some degree.
In addition, features are continually changing, so the data may not reflect the
latest modifications and/or additions.

Compatibility: The trip and
waypoint management functions of this product work with nearly all GARMIN GPS
units, excluding the GPS100 family and panel mount aviation units. See Garmin
MapSource Compatibility for units that support the map download
feature of this product. Some GPS units require a GARMIN data card to
upload map data (see Garmin
MapSource Compatibility).
System Requirements: PC with Windows 2000
or newer operating system;
32MB RAM minimum; 2 GB free hard disk space; CD-ROM drive for CD versions or DVD
drive for DVD versions; available serial and/or USB port, 256 color display adapter and monitor
(16- bit color required); and mouse or other pointing device; PC Interface
cable, Internet access is recommended.

v7 which works in all units that previously required City Select
except the Legend C, Vista C which have only 24 MB of memory and GPS V
which has only 19 MB of memory
